price hike for The Star's weekend papers

I went to buy The Star just now and I didn't know they are increasing the price today from RM1.20 to RM1.50. I thought they said will start this weekend. Oh yeah, Saturday is weekend too.

I don't know why The Star have to increase price on weekend since they are making the most money on Saturday's advertisements.

Guess I have reason to stop reading The Star now. To be honest, I gain more information through reading blogs and online news than reading The Star's shit.

    I read about the increase but didn't know the effective date. SO when I bought the Star this am and pat RM1.20. The sellar said sudah nail harga.
    I am also of the view that the reason for increase is crap due to increase costs and they cant absorb anymore. Ridiculous when they are making millions of $$$$.

    Astro also the same with increase in June 07. Astro also making millions and yet want to increase.

    Everything in Malaysia seems to going up only. Tolls hike coming soon.

    I read only Star InTech, but since The Star stop supply our campus with free The Star, I already stop reading it for 6 months++, just sometimes buy it.

    Even my milo iced increased 20 sen to RM1.80 within 1 year.

    The only Naik that I support is Retirement Age Naik to 60. :)

    They said there were going to add more content for the Weekend papers, but it's even thinner than usual. Liars!

    But I still can't get over Astro's astronomical price increase. Urgh!!!

    The Astro and Star price hike are ridiculous. The reasons they give are all crap. Reading The Star really is like flipping pages of advertisement leaflets. Some half page, some full page, some even entire left and right pages, leaving only a small area for news. Even so, that news is something not worth knowing, like some gossip story. Sigh! They're earning millions and they're just going to earn much, much more by doing this.

    I read Saturday's Star because of the Star Jobs section - I guess after I've gotten my job I'll cut down on Weekend papers.

    Narrowband: There's no control in this country. Everyone can easily increase prices and nobody cares anymore.
