Australian Open 2008: Awaiting for the nail-biting match between Nadal and Tsonga
All Rafa's (although I prefer to call him Nadal) fans around the world will be eagerly waiting for this match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the semifinal at the Australian Open.
I haven't really watch Tsonga played until last night, the match against Mikhail Youzhny. I wasn't impressed when he beat Andy Murray and Richard Gasquet but when I saw him played in the quarterfinal yesterday, I realized how dangerous and threatening this Frenchman is.
his breakthrough in the men's tennis.
He looked so relaxed and calm even in the most crucial moment, when he needed to close the deal in straight sets during the tiebreak against Youzhny.
Nadal in deep thoughts strategizing to move intothe final at the Australian Open for the first time.
Whatever the result is, this year is going to be an exciting for all tennis fans. At least we know tennis is not heading towards something like the F-1 where only the big guns win.
5 drop shot(s):

Jo-willy vs RAFA - definitely a popcorn match. :))
He's just like Baggy in 2006, no one noticed him till he through to the slam semis. Krazee!! I thought Monfils is the future #1 French after Richie mana tau, it's Jo pulak! HAHA....
He was injured last year, hardly through further stage of any events. No special weapon, a big-hitter, run like mad, beaten Hewitt in Sydney, won dubs title with Richie. This is totally mad case. Incredible run!(Tapi, people will starting to KAJI his game now, especially Uncle Toni..LOL)
I root for underdog though he has beaten my Top 10s, Murray, Gasquet, Youhzny in a row.:((
ALLEZ Jo-Willy Ali...HAHAHA

It is going to be A Fedex Vnadal Final. :)

esther: you know what, wouldn't it be nice to watch with a bunch of tennis-crazy fans and divide us into Tsonga supporters or Nadal supporters.
I predict a crazy year ahead in tennis!
sam: most certainly is. but i would love to see djokovic and nadal in the final :p

If any player believe they can beat Fed be it Djokovic, Nadal or Tsonga...then they really can do it. Blake came quite close.
-
And Nadal ended his campaign at Melbourne losing to an unseeded player.
It's amazing how this Australian Open create chances for less unlikely players you can think of into the final. It happened with Baghdatis and Gonzalez (last year) and you don't really see them perform at the same par the rest of the year.
