'AIG SUNDAY' packed with 10,000 tennis fans
The pre-tournament event at the AIG Sunday saw an attendance of about 10,000 tennis fans.
The event saw the practice sessions of Kei Nishikori (錦織 圭) vs Go Soeda and Kimiko Date vs Ayumi Morita as well as exhibition doubles match between Takao Suzuki/Satoshi Iwabuchi vs David Ferrer/Tommy Robredo.
The exhibition match between world No. 1 wheelchair tennis player (also Paralympic gold medallist) Shingo Kunieda and Satoshi Saida was also on schedule but it was canceled at the last minute due to Kunieda's elbow injury.
Here are some photos from the event.

I read that Kei caused quite a stir when he arrived. He is really impressive, I'll be cheering for him.

Sheila, yeah even NB reported his arrival in Tokyo in his blog. The home crowd would love to see Kei win here. I really hope he will.
Well I wish i know Japanese to cover more news about Kei as I only depend on google translator and forum posts now.

Hey HCFoo: It looks like they're pulling out all the stops here!
I was just thinking about this: Whatever happened to the Kuala Lumpur stops on the ATP tour? Weren't there two of them a year?

Hi there Van! I guess Asia gets more attention these days. There are quite a lot of fans at this part of the world here.
Last year there was this Challenger in KL but looks like it was a flop. Yeah the only tournament they are going to have here is 2x Futures.
