It maybe quite hard to understand some of the terms. <br /><br />Basically, there are 2 important things when it comes to practice Buddhism: taking refuge (is like baptism in Christianity) meaning you take you vow to be a Buddhist through a formal ritual and practice the meditation of Four Recollections. It is adviseable to learn from a Rinpoche (if you are interested in tibetan buddhism).<br /><br />HH actually gave a long explanation and example on how hard it is to be born again as a human and that it is important to practice Buddha teachings now as life is fragile.
